5th Sunday Offering Today’s offering will go to the Bethesda Home Ministry.

Following worship this morning,  Alden Dick will introduce the Congregational Review Process.  The Reviews will be handed out, briefly reviewed.  You will have the week to fill them out and return them next Sunday [11/6}.  The collected reviews will be tabulated and on Sunday Nov. 13 after worship, a business meeting will be called in to session and Alden Dick will report on the results of the review.   At that time a motion will be entertained from the congregation as to whether to extend to Pastor Brad another term as pastor.

The Christmas Giving

The Goessel Ministerial Alliance and the Crossroads Credit Union are sponsoring a “Christmas Giving Tree” again this year. This tree endeavors to help with some of the expenses of Christmas for those families in need.  We invite all parents who feel they could use a little help to fill out an application.

Applications will be available at the Goessel Elementary and High School offices, the Goessel City Office, the Crossroads Credit Union, and the Citizens State Bank.  All applications will need to be turned in by Friday, November 18 to the Elementary School office or in a sealed envelope marked “Christmas Giving Tree” at the Crossroads Credit Union.

The tags will be available on the tree at the Crossroads Credit Union on Tuesday, November 22.  All the gifts will need to be brought back to the Credit Union by Monday, December 12.  The gifts should be wrapped, and the credit union personnel will assist with the “checking in” process.  The gifts will then be distributed by the Ministerial Alliance.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of the pastors.

The 2022 Goessel Area Harvest Giving Walk took place on Sunday, September 18 beginning and ending at Tabor Mennonite Church. Thirty-eight participants endured the 100 degree heat and completed a route between 2 and 6 miles. Over $6,600 was raised for this event and will be dispersed to MCC’s Ukraine crisis response and the Tabor Church Food Pantry. Additionally, 46 items were collected for the Tabor Food Pantry! Thank you for your support of this annual community event – by walking, donating money or non-perishable items, and praying for us! ~Kevin & Yvette Nickel, area coordinators

The Mennonite Heritage & Agricultural Museum has invited authorCarolyn Zeisset to speak on Saturday, October 1, at 2:30 p.m. at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church. Zeisset’s recently published historical novel, Then the Rules Changed, tells the 1870s Russian Mennonite migration story from the perspective of a child. The main character is loosely based on Zeisset’s grandfather, who was a child when his Mennonite family settled in Marion County, Kansas. Her presentation will include background details of the emigration and make connections between historical context and current events in Ukraine. A refreshment time will follow with the opportunity to purchase and have Zeisset sign your copy of her book
