Bethesda Pillars Banquet – Mark your calendars now for November 3 at Tabor Mennonite Church – There will be a drive thru option as well as a plated meal with entertainment. More details to come!

The annual Goessel Area Harvest Giving Walk is less than a month away. This year’s route (between 1 and 6 miles) will begin at Goessel Church on Sunday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. Find a donation envelope on the table in the foyer and start your fundraising today! Donations go to support MCC and the local Tabor Church Food Pantry.

Tabor Mennonite Church invites you to join us for our annual Mennograss event on Sunday, August 25!  A supper consisting of grilled hamburgers, hotdog, sides and homemade ice cream will start at 5:45 and music will start around 6:00. This event is free to the Goessel community, but donations to help cover expenses are welcome. We hope that you will join us at the Tabor Church park for this evening of food, fellowship and live music.

The Fourth Monday Family History & Genealogy Group will meet on Monday, August 26, 2024, 7:00 p.m., in the Goessel City Building Community Room. Several individuals will be sharing about the life and service of Goessel’s Country Midwife.  The presentation is entitled “Remembering Margaretha.”  Information will also be shared about a new book recently released telling the fascinating story of the midwife and her family.  Copies will be available for purchase. The meeting is free and open to the public.  If you know of anyone who might be interested in joining us, feel free to invite them.  For more information, call either Fern Bartel at the Goessel Museum (620-367-8200) or Anna Beth Birky (620-386-0381).

This Sunday we will begin a new series of sermons from 1 & 2 Peter.  We will focus on 1 Peter 6-7 weeks and then on 2 Peter 1:5-9 to coincide with the adult study on Spiritual Gifts.  We’ll then conclude 2 Peter in November.   

Tonight all 6th-8th graders (from the previous school year) are invited for an evening of slip ‘n slide activities and ice cream sundaes from 6:30-8:00 p.m. We will meet at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church shelter house area. Please wear clothes that can get wet and bring your favorite ice cream topping to share. Questions? Contact Kristi Unruh or Megan Duerksen. Additional info can also be found on the Goessel Community Jr. High Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you at this summer send-off!
