LEADERSHIP

It has been said that everything rises and falls on leadership. Strong and godly leadership is essential. Historically, Moses was one of the first great leaders and world influencers. Jesus called out 12 disciples in whom he invested his ministry. Godly leadership is essential for a Spirit led church. 1 Peter 5:1-4, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-8

“Celebrating Palm Sunday”

WORSHIP

When Jesus was asked to name “the greatest commandment,” His reply was:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments rest all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:34-38)

When Jesus was talk with the Samaritan woman {John 4} they talked about worship, who to worship and how to worship.  He said …

23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

For these reasons our worship of God is joyous and incorporates the scriptures, prayer, and the exaltation of His name in song.

Christmas Eve

EVANGELISM/MISSION

The early church demonstrated what a vibrant and growing church looks like.  Acts 2:42-47 shares with us how they expressed their vibrant life in the Lord and how this life in Him attracted others into relationship with Jesus Christ and joined in His mission make disciples.  We look to their example to encourage us, that we, the Goessel Church will more effectively fulfill His purpose given us.

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers … 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

FELLOWSHIP

Throughout the church’s history, fellowship has been a key strength for the body of Christ.  For that reason, the Goessel Church places a high value on fellowship that is Spirit-filled.  We love to fellowship around tables of food, and we are learning to develop other opportunities to study the scriptures, pray and fellowship.

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.

46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.  {Acts 2:42-47}

Service Ministry

Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load. [1]
